Drag Queen Photoshoot

The Brief:
This was a self-initiated shoot with a Brighton-based drag queen designed to capture bold, expressive portraits in a fun, unusual location: the seafront.

What I Did:
I directed and shot a series of creative portraits that played with light, texture and movement, balancing high-glam grunge styling with the rawness of the outdoor setting. The shoot was spontaneous, but we worked together to capture a mix of close-up detail, full-body looks and performance energy.

Why it Mattered:
The photos were used to promote the queen’s residency at a local bar. The set also allowed me to explore creative portraiture outside of my usual client work.

The Outcome:
The shoot resulted in a vibrant set of images that were shared across socials and event promos. More importantly, it showed how a strong creative concept and some natural light can go a long way - no studio required!
